Israeli military operations in the central Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least three Palestinians, including a four-year-old child identified as Muhammad Abdel Salam Taha. Several other individuals sustained injuries during the series of attacks, which have further intensified the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Gaza’s Civil Defence rescue service confirmed that an air strike on the town of az-Zawayda claimed two lives. The casualties, along with multiple wounded civilians, were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah for emergency treatment. A separate strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp resulted in one additional fatality, while the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported further military action near the Maghazi refugee camp on Salah al-Din Street.
The violence follows a drone attack on the al-Hasanat family in Deir el-Balah just one day prior, which left one person dead and several others wounded. Displaced residents, such as Abu Ahmed, expressed deep frustration regarding the ongoing instability, stating, “There is no ceasefire, there is nothing. We want solutions; we want to live in peace.” He described the scene near his shelter as a site of total destruction, with buildings reduced to mangled steel and concrete.
Official data from Gaza’s Ministry of Health indicates that at least 1,286 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since an October ceasefire agreement was established. Since the broader conflict began in October 2023, the total death toll in the territory has surpassed 73,400 people.
