Duchess Meghan is making a splash on her 45th birthday. The mother-of-two took to Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 4, thanking fans for the “birthday love” as she celebrated the milestone.
The royal, who married Prince Harry in 2018, shared two photos of herself plunging into a pool. In the images, she is seen wearing a dark swimsuit and oversized sunglasses, with a bunch of birthday balloons flying behind her in the festive scene.
To mark the occasion, Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, paid tribute to its founder with a carousel of images shared on Instagram. The first image shows the mother-of-two enjoying a moment of calm outdoors, wearing a pair of pale jeans and a blue striped shirt while gazing thoughtfully into the distance. Another image shows the duchess as a young girl sitting cross-legged on a bed, her hair styled into braids.
“A birthday worth celebrating” reads the wording on an envelope shared in another of the images. The company, which was established in the spring of 2025 after years of teasing fans, has spent much of the summer promoting its “fruit forward” blackberry spread and jars of lavender honey.
The birthday tributes arrived as the duchess, alongside husband Prince Harry, issued a scathing statement taking aim at Big Tech over AI tools that enable “predatory behavior” against women and children. The royal couple specifically called out Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, for attempting to block the state of Minnesota’s ban on AI “nudification” technology.
The couple, who married in 2018, share two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. They have long warned of the dangers of social media and the evolution of disturbing AI tools, focusing on the negative impact these platforms can have on mental health. Last year, to mark her 44th birthday, As Ever paid tribute to her with a black-and-white photo showing the duchess smiling outdoors in a sun dress and wide-brimmed hat.
The Sussex family recently returned from a trip to the United Kingdom, where they were reunited with King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years. This meeting marked a significant step toward reconciliation amid an ongoing rift triggered six years ago when Harry and Meghan stepped back from their senior royal duties and relocated to California. Meghan did not join Harry on the London portion of his trip following a royal fallout over security measures and confusion regarding a rescinded invitation for Prince Harry to stay at Buckingham Palace.
Following that brief visit to Harry’s home country, the Sussexes returned home to Meghan’s home state. Reflecting on the challenges they have faced, Meghan shared a piece of advice she finds helpful during hard days: “If there’s a storm happening, above the storm, the sun’s always shining,” she recalled her husband once telling her.
