The United States Secret Service has confirmed it is aware of a video aired by Iran’s state broadcaster that appears to target Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump. The nearly three-minute segment, broadcast over the weekend by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), opens with an English-language graphic asking, “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” and displays stylized imagery of locations frequented by the younger Trump, including New York’s Trump Tower.
“The US Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” spokesperson Nate Herring stated. He added that the agency does not discuss matters of protective intelligence due to concerns regarding operational security. The IRIB, whose leadership is appointed directly by Iran’s supreme leader, has frequently featured content threatening the president and his family since the February death of former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the ongoing conflict involving the US and Israel.
Federal law enforcement officials indicate that this video is part of a broader campaign from Iran targeting the president and his relatives. These materials have reportedly included specific movement details and suggestions for harming family members. A federal source noted that protective operations are continuously adjusted based on intelligence gathered from the Secret Service, domestic agencies, local police, and international partners.
The video concludes with a narrator suggesting that individuals are “eagerly waiting to receive our $10 million reward.” This follows a pattern of hostility that has intensified since the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian general Qasem Soleimani. During funeral events for Khamenei in July, supporters were observed displaying “Kill Trump” posters and offering bounties for vengeance, reflecting the anti-American sentiment that has been a hallmark of state-organized rallies since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
President Trump has previously addressed these threats, remarking in July that he remains on a target list. During a NATO summit in Turkey that same month, he was forced to depart on an alternate military plane—reportedly boarding while hidden inside a catering truck—due to a credible threat involving a shoulder-fired missile. Officials had feared for his safety on Air Force One, prompting the elaborate security maneuver. While threats against first lady Melania Trump have been documented previously, this instance marks the first time Barron Trump has been publicly singled out in such a manner.
