Bruce Willis made a rare public appearance on August 8 to celebrate the wedding of his daughter, Tallulah Willis, to musician Justin Acee. The ceremony took place in the backyard of the bride’s home in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Images published by Vogue on August 14 captured the 71-year-old actor, known for his roles in “Pulp Fiction” and “Die Hard,” participating in the celebration. In one poignant black-and-white photograph, Willis is seen embracing his 32-year-old daughter while holding the hand of his new son-in-law. The actor wore a casual woven fedora, a short-sleeved button-up shirt, and trousers, while the bride was dressed in a custom cream Balenciaga gown.
The actor’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, was also in attendance. The “Substance” star, who was married to Willis from 1987 to 2000, appeared in photos wearing a flowy blue satin dress. The couple shares three daughters: Rumer, 37, Scout, 35, and Tallulah, 32.
Tallulah and Acee, who confirmed their engagement in December 2024 with social media posts featuring candles and rose petals, spoke to Vogue about their commitment. “We made a decision at the very beginning of our relationship that we were going to choose each other every day,” Tallulah said.
Willis has been retired from his acting career since March 2022, following an initial diagnosis of aphasia. In February 2023, his family announced that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, a group of brain disorders affecting the frontal and temporal lobes that typically impact behavior, personality, and language.
Since 2009, the actor has been married to Emma Heming Willis, with whom he shares two daughters, Mabel, 14, and Evelyn, 12. Heming Willis has become a prominent advocate for caregivers, detailing her experiences in her September-published book, “The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path.”
During a January 28 appearance on the “Conversations with Cam” podcast, Heming Willis shared her perspective on her husband’s health. “I think that’s the blessing and the curse of this,” she said, noting that she is grateful Bruce is unaware of his diagnosis. “He never connected the dots that he had this disease, and I’m really happy about that.”
She confirmed their engagement in a December 2024 Instagram post, which featured photos of the couple smooching and holding hands, surrounded by rose petals, candles, and a Christmas tree, with the caption “Everyday.”
