At least seven Palestinians have been killed and over 10 wounded in ongoing Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, as violations of a nearly year-old ceasefire agreement continue to mount. Among the latest casualties, six individuals died Wednesday when an Israeli drone targeted a passenger van in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of southwest Gaza City. “There is supposed to be a ceasefire in Gaza, but the Israeli army’s violence is endless.
Emergency crews from the Palestine Red Crescent Society transported 13 injured people to al-Quds Hospital following the attack. Medical personnel have described the condition of the wounded as critical, warning that the local healthcare system remains severely depleted due to persistent blockades and long-term infrastructure damage. Officials indicate that the death toll from this specific strike may rise as doctors struggle to provide life-saving care. According to “Doctors say it’s difficult to save the lives of the wounded because the health system is decimated by years of Israeli attacks and the blockade,”, Hind Khoudary, reporting from Gaza City. “The number of dead in the strike could rise in the coming hours.”.
Separately, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported that an Israeli attack on a residential apartment building near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City resulted in the death of at least one woman. Further violence was recorded across the region, including a drone strike on a shelter for displaced persons in southern Gaza that left four people injured, among them two children. Additionally, two Palestinians sustained serious wounds southeast of Deir el-Balah, while Israeli tank fire was documented in the southern Khan Younis area.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that at least nine bodies were recovered and brought to hospitals within the 24-hour period ending Wednesday morning. These latest fatalities bring the total number of people killed since the ceasefire began in October of last year to at least 1,431, with 5,026 wounded over that same span. Of those 5,026 injuries, 31 occurred within the last 24 hours alone. According to the attacks came as the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which compiles casualty figures from hospitals across the territory,, In its latest daily update early on Wednesday that the bodies of at least nine people had arrived at hospitals during the last 24 hours.
Residents describe the atmosphere within the territory as increasingly dire, with civilians living in constant fear of routine activities like grocery shopping or schooling. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, exacerbating the impact of a conflict that has caused massive destruction. UN data highlights the scale of physical devastation, noting that approximately 82 percent of all structures in Gaza—totaling roughly 200,000 buildings—have suffered damage since the war began. About two-thirds of these have been completely destroyed, with the United Nations Satellite Centre identifying a 9 percent increase in destroyed structures since the ceasefire implementation in August.
