A wave of Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip has resulted in at least four deaths and multiple injuries. Medical sources confirmed that three individuals died in incidents on Saturday, while a fourth succumbed to injuries sustained in an attack on Friday.
Among those killed was Basir al-Bursh, the eldest son of Munir al-Bursh, the director general of Gaza’s Health Ministry. The strike occurred in the az-Zahra neighbourhood, west of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Witnesses reported that he was struck by a drone missile while leaving a tent. In footage shared by families and mourners, Munir al-Bursh was seen carrying his son’s body toward an ambulance. Reflecting on the loss, the father recalled his son predicting they would be targeted while they were sheltering together. The Health Ministry leadership issued a formal statement expressing deep condolences for the death of their colleague’s son.
In a separate incident in Gaza City, an Israeli drone targeted a civilian vehicle near the Sheikh Radwan market. The vehicle burned for nearly thirty minutes before civil defence crews could reach the scene, leaving the remains inside charred completely. Gaza’s civil defence agency reported that one person was killed in the strike, with at least four others—including two children—wounded.
Reports from the field indicate that Israeli reconnaissance aircraft, quadcopters, and attack drones have been maintaining a presence at a very dangerous low level over the territory throughout the day. Further violence was recorded in the Shujayea neighbourhood, where a resident was killed by Israeli fire. Meanwhile, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital confirmed that a young girl died from injuries sustained a day earlier during gunfire near the Nuseirat refugee camp. The same facility reported that a woman and another individual were wounded by gunfire east of the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
The recent violence adds to a significant death toll. Since a United States-brokered ceasefire in October 2025, at least 1,390 people have been killed in the territory. Since the conflict began in October 2023, the total number of deaths has surpassed 73,910, with more than 174,914 individuals injured.
UNICEF recently estimated that an average of one child is killed in the Gaza Strip every day. Families currently face extreme conditions, with many confined to roughly one-third of the enclave and forced to shelter among ruins, debris, and accumulated waste. As of now, Israeli authorities have not issued a specific statement regarding the strikes on the ministry official’s family or the other reported casualties.
