The Yorkshire Ambulance Service dispatched a substantial medical response to the scene, including an air ambulance, two land ambulances, and a doctor. Management at the attraction confirmed that emergency protocols were immediately activated as the park was evacuated. Officials stated they are working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened, emphasizing that the safety and wellbeing of their visitors, staff, and animals remain the highest priority.
Yorkshire Wildlife Park will remain closed for the rest of the weekend while police continue their work at the scene. The attraction first opened in 2009, with its tiger exhibit, known as Land of the Tigers, introduced in 2011. The enclosure features woodlands, grasslands, and a waterfall pool designed for the animals.
Beyond its tiger population, the park houses a diverse range of animals, including lions, polar bears, brown bears, cheetahs, leopards, and sea lions.
